As I contemplate how I am showing up in life today, in my work, with my mate, my friends, family and community, I am struggling against the DO monster.
I long to BE, but all of my past programming is screaming at me to DO.
"Take this action and that action and
DO SOMETHING, and get it all DONE. "
There are unfinished projects (many of them never
past the initial "buy a program or a book" phase)
and even more un started ones.
It can be so easy to get trapped in the cycle, and to
forget that what is MORE important than the DOing,
is who and how I am BEing WHILE I am Doing.
It does me little good (and potentially harm) to do
anything without my heart involved. That means
I have to be present WHILE I am Doing.
It's one thing to be Present while I eat, or exercise,
or meditate, or pray, or even write or study. But to
be Present and In my HEART when engaging with a
client or my Sweetie or a friend, family, or neighbor
is to really BE living in a connected way to life.
This is the Foundation for Relating, no matter
who you are engaging with in any moment.
HOW I show up in any activity will color and
shape my experience. All it really takes is an
awareness, in the moment, to drop down into
my heart and be aware of my energy. What
is the field I am generating?
Rupert Sheldrake wrote about "Morphogenic
Fields" and how they affect the material plane
that we all swim in. You have experienced this
phenomenon whether you were aware of it or not.
You walked into a room and you FELT something.
It might have been joyful excitement or it might
have been gloom or anything in between but you
FELT it when you entered the space.
You can create your OWN field just by being
present and accessing your heart. Your heart
electromagnetic waves have been measured
several meters out from your body, unlike the
inch or two of your brainwaves.
Knowing this, try bringing an open and loving
heart to your next activity. ESPECIALLY if it
involves a loved one. If you are having issues
with someone you care about, it will be even
more critical to meet them with this open and
loving heart and an intention to LEARN.
Set up this field no matter WHAT you are doing
and see what it feels like to be BEing as you
do what you do. Experiment and enjoy the
fruits of LIVING FULLY no matter what you have

I feel your pain when a situation is not what you
imagined for your life or the life of another.
That could be your marriage or career, your spouse,
your child, parent, neighbor, or someone you don't
even know who lives far away and is hungry or in a
war zone or reeling from a mass shooting.
When we feel strong feelings about something, whether that be sadness, anger, or despair, it is a signal
that we are experiencing something we are not aligned with.
It is an opportunity to be aware of what we want INSTEAD!
These early warning signs can be useful to help us
identify what we want to move toward. When we can
accept that what IS is what we have to move from or
away from, we can still find contentment IN our
situation as a “Growth Edge” for our personal
development and evolution.
That does not mean we have to settle for any kind of
contentment WITH it.
We want to have the drive and motivation (or Better
Yet, INSPIRATION) to make changes in our (or the
world's) situation but not at the Expense of our
Well Being, which is all about being content with
When we strive to find solutions to issues we are
not content WITH from a place of Well Being (or
contentment IN), we have better outcomes.
We are able to work better with those we are in
conflict with, resulting in more of what we want.
We access higher intuition and creativity and are
able to make better choices and decisions.
If you are trying to make changes in your life or
the life of others, stop for a moment and notice
if you are trading your inner Well Being for nothing
and thus hindering your success.
There will be less friction and resistance to your
efforts when you approach this situation from
your contentment in your growth and learning while
you do the work of changing that which is

It has been harrowing watching my Sweetie ride out
Hurricane Irma and her howling Category 5 destrucion
only to have BOTH Jose AND Maria on her heels.
Fortunately he was able to get a sea plane ferry off
the decimated island of St. Thomas and a flight out
of St. Croix so he was safe and sound before Maria
hit there again.
Between the horrific destruction on Puerto Rico and
so many beautiful Caribbean islands, the toxic chemical
flooding in Texas along with TWO devastating Earth
quakes in Mexico and lethal flooding in Nepal, there
is a LOT of collective fear, stress, and anxiety going on.
